Kamm supported MUOV in the development of a carbon-fibre bicycle frame, taking the project from initial prototypes towards pre-production. The programme involved tooling design, design for manufacture and the development of pre-preg carbon-fibre processes using autoclave technology. With an initial production requirement of approximately 1,000 frames annually and longer-term ambitions reaching 25,000, conventional labour-intensive manufacturing methods presented significant limitations. Kamm explored alternative structural and manufacturing approaches, including novel core technologies and semi-automated processes, with the objective of reducing production complexity while maintaining the performance and quality expected of a high-end carbon-fibre frame.
